Strong execution to drive market share gains for M&M
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Passenger vehicles (PVs) continue to see strong momentum, with volumes up about 19% FY26 YTD, led by new launches and sustained demand for SUVs. The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment has also remained resilient, posting about 17% YTD growth, supported by a healthy replacement cycle. In the farm segment, tractor demand remains robust, growing about 23% FY26 YTD. The auto major noted that demand has not shown any consistent historical correlation with El Niño conditions, with the monsoon continuing to be the most critical variable to watch going forward.

New Delhi: NITI Aayog has quietly revised its February 10 transport sector report, uploading an updated version on its website without a formal announcement after major automobile companies objected to several assumptions and definitions, Business Standard has learnt.
Mahindra flags Rs 5,000 crore CAFE 3 risk
Mahindra & Mahindra has said the proposed Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE 3) norms could expose the company to annual penalties of up to Rs 5,000 crore, flagging concerns over the pace of transition required under the draft rules. In a letter to PK Mishra, principal secretary to the Prime Minister, Group CEO and Managing Director Anish Shah has said the emission targets appear “unrealistic”, with internal estimates indicating a steep scale-up in electric vehicle (EV) sales over a short period.
